  1. thanks for the idea– countering deceptive worldly thought with transformed thinking. Here’s one used.

Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high. there’s a land that I’ve heard of..And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true….Where all my troubles melt like lemon drops.

-the above – well maybe- but it won’t be by wishful thinking.

  2. -as many as received Him (Jesus), to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, John 1:12

-Christ having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await HIM. Heb 9:28
-our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; Phil 3:20
-if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it. Romans 8:25

  3. Well that just made my morning. I should see if my husband would pack our family up and move to Moscow so we could be under the performers care.

  4. At least the band is rightly named, since it’s another instance of an earnest eeeevangelical pastor doing that awkward dad thing.

  5. The musical contributions in this post by the Logos Dads, Ali’s thing, and CW’s TK clip are not much different than this oldie but goodie:

Please be sure to watch the spell binding guitar riff by the dude in the middle with the orange guitar.
Who said we can’t mix cultural relevance with Christian cool?

  7. Wow. Folks applauded that. Do you think they were under threat of discipline? If you had to gauge their seriousness by the look of strain on their faces as they played and croaked and the effort put into staging, you’d have to say they took themselves seriously. That’s the hiccup between reality and who they think they are that let’s you know. It doesn’t take years or treatises on theology or even much discussion. It’s just that disconnect. Sociopaths give themselves away in a similar manner. It’s that look of flat effect or lack of appropriate response to an outside stimulus that tells you this isn’t a problem that will be resolved rationally.

  8. Charts, interesting. Did not know that. But I was referring to DW’s embarrassing act. I forwarded to the end to see if there was any acknowledgement that their performance was parody worthy. No such relief to be had.

  9. DG the second one was worse. However I am confused why he is allowing women to share a stage with him.

  10. Kudos to Ali for the Judy Garland clip — Miss Garland definitely adds value to this thread. She performed in a time when actors could act, sing and dance.

  12. Simply Resistible. Wow that’s just horrible. Sonseed was cheesier but far more entertaining. Was that Spirit in the Sky performance at a church service?

  13. I’m sure it was not in a church service but was part of one of the many wonderful cultural events with which the Wilsonites have blessed their little corner of paradise.
