Darryl Hart continues his series on J. Gresham Machen looking at Machen and the Independent Board of Presbyterian Foreign Missions.  The independent board was created as a reaction to the liberal theology permeating the denominational board.  The controversy surrounding the board eventually led to Machen’s removal as minister of the Presbyterian Church.

    I’ve been listening and re-listening your lectures on the life of Machen.

    I can’t help to see the parallels between the culturally based and centered missions work that he fought against and this Missonal movement that is taking over the SBC and PCA.

    It would be interesting to hear your take on that. I wonder if you could contrast and compare the current Missional Movement VS the cultured centered missions work that Machen opposed.

    Thank you, I have really benefited from your work. “Fighting the Good Fight” was very helpful to me as I was considering OPC and our church is currently going through “with Reverence and Awe” on Sunday nights.
